The main objective of MozBio II is to increase the effectiveness of management of conservation areas that support and improve the living conditions of communities residing in and around them.

MozBio II focuses its intervention in the following areas:
- Landscape of the Marromeu Complex, which encompasses the Marromeu National Reserve and Coutadas 10, 11 and 14 and constitutes the bulk of the wetland of international importance in the Zambezi Delta (a Ramsar site).
- Chimanimani Landscape, which includes the Chimanimani National Park and its buffer zone that includes three forest reserves, namely, Marronga, Moribane and Zomba.
- Landscape of Costa dos Elefantes, which encompasses the Maputo Special Reserve, the Ponta de Ouro Partial Marine Reserve, the Ilha da Inhaca Biological Reserve and the area around these, in the interior of the Matutuíne District.
