Chimanimani

Created in 2000, in the district of Sussundenga, in Manica, the Chimanimani National Park covers Mount Binga, the highest point in the country, close to the border with Zimbabwe.

It has a rich ecosystem, especially in the mountainous areas, of rocky landscapes and unique species of plants, birds, reptiles and butterflies. The local community also preserves cave paintings, ancestral beliefs and traditions which add cultural interest to the Park.

Some of the most relevant species include elephants, rare antelopes such as blue and oribi goats, samango monkeys, several endemic bird species (including the robin), and the critically endangered cave frog (arthroleptis troglodytes).
