The Maputo Environmental Protection Area (APA) is an area in the public domain, which promotes the harmonious interaction between human activity and nature. APA allows the multiple use of resources, managed in an integrated manner, and encourages the development of activities that benefit and promote important ecological services for its residents and neighbours. It constitutes what is internationally called a Protected Landscape.
The Ministry of Land and Environment is the central organ of the State apparatus which, in accordance with the principles, objectives and objectives defined by the Government, directs, plans, coordinates, controls and prevents the execution of policies in the domains of Land administration and management and Geomatics, Forests and Wildlife, Environment, Climate Change and Conservation Areas.
